As per The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur, and by extension their transfer chief Fabio Paratici, have eyes for a new target in Genk midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt.
The Lowdown: Thorstvedt ‘dreams’ of Spurs…
The Norway international, who has shown great form for his side in the Jupiler Pro League over this past year, has previously revealed his desire to join Tottenham.

His father, Erik Thorstvedt, spent nearly a decade at White Hart Lane as Spurs’ first choice shot stopper – going on to make 133 appearances in all competitions whilst keeping 35 clean sheets (Transfermarkt).
The 22-year-old is slowly following in the footsteps of his family member, having already racked up 11 caps for the Norway national team, with his Dad managing 94 over a dedicated senior career.
The Belgian top flight ace, speaking to Norwegian media outlet Dagsavisen, has candidly admitted he wants to replicate his namesake’s career further by joining Spurs.
Thorstvedt said that signing for Tottenham has ‘always’ been in his ‘dreams’ – going on to claim it has ‘always been Spurs’.
The Latest: Spurs eye move…
As per The Sun, Paratici and manager Antonio Conte could be weighing whether to make his dream a reality as they now eye a move for the Scandinavian gem.
However, it won’t be cheap, with this report claiming it could cost the Lilywhites around £25 million.
The Verdict: Not a priority…
While there is clear enthusiasm on the player’s part to instigate a north London move, we believe it is hardly Tottenham’s priority given their need for a striker, right-wing-back, world class midfielder and first team level centre-half (Alasdair Gold).
Just a few days of the transfer window remain with Spurs apparently working on a multitude of deals as they enter talks to sign Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski and could be close to sealing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Thorstvedt could be one for the future, though, especially considering Scandinavian talent scout Jacek Kulig has called him a ‘diamond’ and ‘absolutely fantastic’ (Twitter).
