Everton fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they want Rafa Benitez – formerly the manager of arch-rivals Liverpool – to replace Marco Silva following the heartbreaking defeat to Leicester.
Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to assist a goal and score another in stoppage time as the Foxes came from behind the beat the Toffees, ensuring that Silva has overseen just two wins from Everton’s last ten Premier League games.
The Merseysiders now find themselves 17th in the Premier League, just two points off the relegation zone having won a total of four games all season – however, appointing Benitez would surely be a controversial move given his ties to the Toffees’ bitter rivals Liverpool.
Despite the Spaniard’s links to Anfield, one fan said that they would take Benitez as he is the “only decent option available”.
Another supporter said that Everton should’ve tried to appoint the former Real Madrid managers “years ago”.
Let’s take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction…
